Indian Vendors Spend over US$10 Million on Taiwanese ICT Products

A group of 20 major players in the ICT industry in India, each of them having an annual revenue over US$10 million or ranked in top 50 of India's importer list, met with 96 Taiwanese companies, including Micro-Star, Phison, Mustek, and Ligitek Electronics, on October 15 in Taiwan for a procurement arrangement worth of US$11.15 million, according to the press release of Taiwan's TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council). Tablet is the most popular category, attracting vendors such as Smartlink Network Systems, HLBS Tech, Datamini technologies, and Balaji Solutions, followed by mobile phone accessories, network equipment, and LED lighting products. India's ICT imports totaled around US$70 billion in 2012, and are forecast to reach US$300 billion in 2020, according to TAITRA.
